The Daily and Weekly Reports, Updated

AUTHOR: Francisco Sáez
tags Improvements

This week we have added a new server exclusively dedicated to the massive release of emails. The main objective was to avoid decreases in the FacileThings app performance when emails are batched.

In addition to improving the average application speed response, this allows us to better maintain the system and have total control over configuration, something we were looking for to allow users to customize the time they want to receive the Daily Report of tasks. Users from Asia and Australia will be especially happy to be able to do so, because this email went to their inbox at a little useful moment of the day.

To indicate what time you want to receive the Daily Report, you have to go to the Account section and click on the time indicator you’ll see on the right:

We have completely redesigned the Daily Report so it can be perfectly seen and used on mobile devices:

We have also made some changes, giving more relevance to the text of the task than to the other data, and adding a new section that will show you information relating to the contacts that appear in the report tasks:

  • Today’s Calendar: List of the events and tasks scheduled for the day (or pending from previous days).
  • Important Next Actions: List of the Next Actions that you have marked as focus.
  • Other reminders: List of items with past due dates you have on your Waiting For and Someday/Maybe lists.
  • Contact Information: It shows data from people that appeared in the previous sections. This section allows you to send emails to your contacts from the report itself, call them, or view a map with the address you are heading to (contacts with no email, phone number, or address, will not appear in this section).

The Weekly Report also now has a new design, although no changes to its content:

We hope you like them!
